What is the Best Way to Find a Dentist Who Does Dental Implants?
Getting dental implants involves a significant investment of time and money, so it’s important to make sure you’ve selected the right dental practice for the job. Bear in mind that some practices handle the entire dental implant process in-house, but others work with local specialists who handle the surgical placement of the implant posts. Additionally, it’s worth checking to see if the dentist you’ve chosen is involved with any high-profile organizations that offer advanced dental implant training.
At Sunrise Dental Center, we’re proud to offer start-to-finish dental implant care. Our own Dr. Song Ahn is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists; he has also completed a number of continuing education courses on the topic of dental implant surgery. Our team also includes Dr. Thomas Ahn, who is an affiliate associate fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and has completed a prestigious one-year dental implant program.

How Much Does a Dental Checkup & Cleaning Cost in Houston, TX?
The geographical location of a dental practice can affect the amount they charge for routine checkups and cleanings due to the local cost of living. On top of that, the current state of your oral health and your dental insurance coverage can help determine your out-of-pocket cost for preventive dentistry. For the record, the average cost of a dental checkup and cleaning in the United States is in the range of $200 to $350.
What Level of Education is Required to Be a Dentist?
Becoming a dentist means earning either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). To obtain either of these degrees, one must first earn a bachelor’s degree, then enroll in one of the 67 accredited dental schools in the United States. Completing dental school usually takes four years of classroom and hands-on learning.
Even after graduation, dentists are expected to keep learning. Specifically, they are required to regularly complete a set number of continuing education hours as determined by the state.
